BRAMPTON, Ont. – The Brampton Battalion is on the hunt to find its Ultimate Fan, with the winner potentially receiving a trip for two to the 2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup tournament in Saskatoon.
The Battalion’s BMO Ultimate Fan contest is to be held Sunday, when the Sarnia Sting faces the Troops in Ontario Hockey League action at 2 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to show their team spirit by dressing in Battalion colours, sweaters or costumes. The first 100 registrants over the age of 13 to have purchased a ticket for the game Sunday will gain entry to the contest.
Fans will be given the opportunity to show their originality, enthusiasm and creativity during the first intermission. Three fans will be selected to participate in a Battalion trivia contest from the Troops’ bench in the second intermission.
The semifinalist who first answers three questions correctly will be the winner. The winner, who will receive an autographed team sweater with a BMO Ultimate Fan crest on the front and a $50 prepaid MasterCard, will be entered into the grand prize draw with winners from other OHL clubs for a trip for two to the 2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup.
Forty Canadian Hockey League teams from the OHL, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and Western Hockey League are participating in the contest starting Tuesday and running through Dec. 12, with one fan from each constituent league to win a May 24-26 trip to the 2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup to be hosted by the WHL’s Saskatoon Blades.
This is the second year of the BMO Ultimate Fan contest, part of a four-year partnership between the CHL and the BMO Financial Group, the league’s official bank.
BMO also is to conduct the BMO Power of Blue program, providing perqs to customers, including the opportunity to win a preloaded MasterCard, in 46 CHL arenas.
