Brad's parents were athletes in high school ... his father Terry owns Metro Ottawa Electric, an electrical contracting company ... played competitive basketball and volleyball ... his mother Roberta is a chartered accountant for the federal government in Ottawa ... she also played basketball and volleyball in high school and participated in competitive women's softball ... Brad's oldest sister Katie is a graduate of Ottawa University and is attending teacher's college at the same school ... his older sister Jannie is a third-year student at St. Lawrence College ... his younger sister Alexandra attends St. Pius X ... Brad's favourite NHL team is the Ottawa Senators and New York Rangers' defenceman Wade Redden is his favourite player ... played competitive lacrosse for six years with the Nepean Knights and was captain of his bantam team ... also played competitive school volleyball.

Overage defenceman Brad Albert earned the Gerry Callaghan Memorial Award as Battalion Humanitarian of the Year ... scored his only goal of the season on Jan. 23 in a 3-2 loss at Sudbury ... played his 200th OHL game on Jan. 10 in a 3-1 loss vs. Mississauga ... served as captain for the season’s first 10 games during Cody Hodgson’s absence ... completed the 2008-09 season, his third with the Battalion, with career-bests in goals (4), assists (15) and points (19) ... played his 150th OHL game on Feb. 19 in a 5-1 home-ice win vs. London ... named recipient of the 2008-09 Jerry Callaghan Memorial Award for humanitarian service by a Battalion member ... scored one goal and added six assists for seven points in 45 regular-season games in 2007-08 ... missed 18 games with mononucleosis before returning to the lineup on Feb. 1 ... had one goal and seven assists for eight points in 48 games during his rookie 2006-07 campaign ... was the Battalion's fourth-round choice in the 2005 OHL Priority Selection after starring for the Nepean Raiders minor midgets in 2004-05 ... spent his entire minor hockey career with Nepean and served as captain at the novice, major atom, major bantam and minor midget levels ... played a third of the 2003-04 season with the Nepean minor midgets while also being captain of the major bantam squad ... attended the Ontario under-17 camp in August, 2005 ... his major atom team won the Ottawa District championship in 2000-01.
