Ken's parents are natives of Sudbury and moved to the North Bay area when Ken was an infant ... father Jeff works for Union Gas in North Bay and played basketball at Laurentian University in Sudbury ... his mother Laurie May is a computer technologist at Canadore College in North Bay ... younger sister Melissa attends West Ferris Secondary in North Bay ... Ken is an outstanding competitive runner and was winner of the 100 and 200 metre Nipissing District Association high school titles in 2004-05 ... also a member of the 4 x 100 senior men's relay team ... has played competitive roller hockey, soccer and baseball ... enjoys golf, biking and fishing ... favourite NHL team is the Toronto Maple Leafs and favourite player is defenceman Steve Staios.
